I made this quilt for a challenge based on the work of artist Henri Rousseau. The challenge was cancelled but I finished the piece anyhow. I looked at several of Rousseau's paintings to make my own fabric "painting" in the style of Rousseau.
Grandson Jay decided that he would like the Transportation Quilt published by The Country Quilter for his new big boy bed. I love being able to make a quilt from my stash - just had to buy the blue background fabric and the outer border.
Cars and trucks and trains, oh my. Mom is riding in a sports car, Jay and brother Cole are in the school bus, grandparents are in the cabose and Dad gets to drive the dump truck.
Sunday I said I didn't need a blog. Tuesday, my friend Jane convinced me that I did. My first post was Dec. 18, 2007. My second post was June 8, 2008. I hope to do a little better in the future....
